It highlights this dedication to employers, colleagues and stakeholders, giving you an edge in the job market. It also provides you with access to valuable knowledge, networks and resources.

 

What is the PMI-NL Chapter?

PMI-NL is a local component of the international Project Management Institute (PMI®).

What is the PMI's New Membership model?

In February 2025, we are transitioning to a new PMI® Membership model where chapter membership is included with PMI membership, which is designed to bring several benefits to current and new members and our chapter.

 

What does this New Membership model provide? What does this mean for me?

• Simplified access: The new membership model now gives you seamless access to both local chapter benefits and PMI's global resources–no more managing separate memberships.
• Maximized network: Connect with a larger community of Project Professionals, locally and globally, unlocking new opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and professional growth.

What is the vision behind the PMI's new unified membership access?

The new vision is to offer unified membership access for every PMI member. Each member selects a “home chapter” but gains access to all chapter services and programs worldwide. This initiative is designed to simplify and enhance the PMI membership experience.

 

What are the benefits of selecting a "home chapter"?

Selecting a home chapter offers members several benefits, including:

• Voting Rights: Members can participate in the election process to vote for the board of directors in their home chapter.
• Enhanced Connection: Members can focus their engagement with a specific chapter while still having access to global services and programs.

 

Can I become a member of not one but multiple chapters of PMI®?

Yes, you absolutely can. With the new membership model, you may be a member of at least one chapter.

 

Can I become a chapter member and then join PMI® at a later date?

You must be a member of PMI before you can join a local chapter such as PMI-NL. With the new membership model, now two memberships are combined into one, and you will be automatically prompted to choose a local chapter while your PMI membership.

 

How long does it take for my PM-INL Chapter Membership to become active?

Your chapter membership will be active once PMI has received payment. You will receive a confirmation email from your local chapter that your membership has been processed, typically a few days after you have completed the registration process.  If you encounter any issues, feel free to contact us at membership@pminl.ca for assistance.

 

How do I renew my membership?

As your membership comes up for renewal, keep an eye out for emails from PMI. These will provide you with the next steps to ensure a smooth transtion into your updated membership.

 

What’s the difference between Student Membership and PMI® Membership?

Student Members enjoy the same benefits as PMI Membership, except that Student Members receive access to publications in a digital format exclusively.  Please visit  Student Membership for more information.

 

Can I get a discount on the membership fees?

PMI does not offer discounts on PMI membership fees except on student memberships.
